About our church
Who are we?
We are an evangelical local church of Christians meeting in Christ’s name and dedicated to the teaching and practice of the Word of God found in the Bible.
Our Objectives:
To acknowledge Jesus Christ as LordTo be obedient to the BibleTo provide a nurturing fellowship for all membersTo carry the truth of Jesus Christ to our community and to the world
We believe that a New Testament local church is self-governing and autonomous under Christ the Head, and we do associate with those local churches that fellowship and are committed to the same beliefs. Our History:Queenstown Bible Chapel had its beginnings in the mid-1960s. The church fellowship grew and by 1977 the believers were meeting in their current building.

Statement Of faith
What we believe and teach as a local church is based on the principles and practices of the church as taught in the New Testament.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF WHAT WE BELIEVE AND TEACH
1) The Bible is God’s Word, without mistakes, and is complete. It tells all we need to know about God, what is true and how to live.
2) There is only one God who is eternal, holy, and created everything. God exists as three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3) Jesus God’s Son always existed and was born as a human baby but without sin. He came this way to become our Saviour from sin. After He died on the cross to pay our sin debt in full, He returned to heaven. He has promised to return to the sky and take all who have trusted Him – His church – to heaven.
4) God created human beings to be like Him. The first man, Adam, disobeyed God and became a sinner so he (and Eve) had to die. Since then, everybody is born a sinner. So we all sin and are guilty of disobeying God and must die.
5) Because we are sinners and couldn’t get to heaven on our own, God provided a way for us to be forgiven and enter His presence. His Son Jesus died taking our punishment for our sin. By receiving Jesus as Saviour God forgives us our sins. Once we are saved our Saviour keeps us saved with the promise that we will be with Him in heaven forever.
6) As a local church we meet together every week to study the Bible, worship the Lord and encourage one another. We believe that all who have been saved should be baptized by immersion as a way of publicly telling everybody that they are now a believer. We also celebrate the Lord’s Supper (communion) each week as our Lord asked us to do. In this way, we remember the completed work of Jesus on the cross, the thrill of the new relationship that we have through Him with God, and know that we are to do this until our Lord Jesus comes for us.
7) Jesus Christ has given human leadership to the local church called elders or overseers. These men are responsible for supervising the teaching of the Bible, helping the church to work together and to take care of each other. Deacons are appointed to assist elders in practical matters.
8) We believe that the Holy Spirit enters into the life of a person the moment he/she trusts Christ as Saviour. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers to encourage and build up the church fellowship. The miraculous gifts like tongues, healing, and prophecy were used in the 1st-century church when the apostles were living. When they died and the New Testament was completed, these miraculous gifts were no longer required.
9) As human beings we will die physically but our spirit and soul never dies. If a saved person (a believer) dies before Christ returns to take us to heaven (what we call the Rapture) his body is usually buried but his spirit goes to be with Christ. When Christ returns, He will bring the believer’s dead body back to life by making it like His resurrection body. In this way, we can live forever with our Lord in heaven.
10) When people die who have not had their sins forgiven and refuse Christ as Saviour, they go to an awful place that God made for the devil and his demons.
11) After Christ comes back to earth (what we call the Second Coming) He will start His own kingdom and rule as King over the entire world for 1000 years. After that God will create a new heaven and earth where there is no sin and His kingdom will go on forever.
12) In an early time of Bible history, God selected Israel to have special privileges. God told the Jews what He expected them to do, and then they were to tell the rest of the world. When Jesus was born as a Jew, Israel through its leadership didn’t believe that He was God and that He came to be Saviour/Messiah. God took away the Jew’s special privileges for a long time but not forever. He promised that one day He would give the Jews back their privileges and give them their own country once again. When Christ returns to take His church to heaven, He will also begin doing special things for Israel. The church doesn’t take away the promises that God made to Israel. They just have to wait a long time before they get them.
